Below you'll find some anwers to some pretty basic questions and hopefully this will provide you with a little bit of insight as to we are and our mission. What is E.A.R.P and What Does E.A.R.P. Stand For? EARP is a Paranormal Research Group based in El Paso, Texas and is Run by native El Pasoan's Ray Ortega, Rose Ortega, James and Karina Saunders. E.A.R.P. is an acronym for The El Paso Alternate Reality Project. Ray and Rose have been doing research on the paranormal phenomenon for over a decade, however; E.A.R.P. was officicaly established a little over 2 1/2 years ago. Originally our research revolved around incidences and events that involved our families, later we began interacting with other individuals here in El Paso and around the country who shared similar experiences. Then in late 2005 we decided to broaden our research and become more involved in the field, by seeking out known or possible hot spots of activiity for further research and investigation. Do you Accept Cases For Investigation? The short answer, yes. But please keep in mind that we won't be able to take on all new cases presetned to us, but we will review each case individually and decide which one's we'll be able to take. If for some reason we feel you have an excellent case that warrants further investigation, but are unable to take on your case, we will refer you to another group who can assist you. How many cases do you take on at a time? At present we can only take on a couple of cases a month, as our team grows, that may change. Taking on one or two cases per month gives us more time to spend researching the area, it's history, your specific expreiences and analyzing results. Do you do Ghost Tours? Yes on occassion however; our focus is on research and investigation. Be sure to come back and check out our event calendar for upcoming ghost tours that we'll be attending, you're more than welcome to join us. Or you can visit KenHudnall.com for his Ghost Tours at Concordia and other areas around town. The Concordia tours are probably the most fun, plus you get to eat :) Ken Hudnall was also the first to start giving Ghost Tours at Concordia and has been doing them for well over 2 years now. We'll be posting details soon, about Ken's tours and other tours around the city. Do you charge for your services? No. But donations and tips are always welcome but not expected or mandatory, although Sayan, our dog, might like a treat from time to time. We're kidding of course about the dog, well okay she does like treats. But the serious answer is no we don't charge. Our interests are in doing research and doing what we can to help you deal with what's occuring in your home or place of business. What kind of experience do you have? We don't want to mislead anyone or give the impression that we are something we are not. We don't hold Doctorates and we are not on or desire to be on a reality show. However, we are a group of people with a lifetime of shared personal experiences, countless hours of research, as well as studying and employing various methodologies used in determining if there is in fact evidence of possible paranormal activity. Each case has to be evaluated on a case by case basis, as each one is unique, everyone's experiences are different and each one has it's own mitigating factors that need to be considered. We have a very scientific mindset and take a very scientific approach to each case. That being said however; we are professional and thorough. If there is something that is beyond our scope and experience we have access to those who can assist. That being said, we do find we what we do to be alot of fun. Do you work with other groups? Yes our goal is to collaborate and share information, methodologies and experiences with other investigators. Not to mention we're history buffs so the more we all learn the more we grow. Are you accepting new members? Yes, we are actively seeking new members. Feel free to contact us via email or contact Ray @ 222-8827. Do you require new members to have experience? The short answer to that is no, as far as ghost hunting or investigations are concerned. So anyone can join. But we are also looking for people with specific areas of experience and knowledge. We will be making a list of what we're looking for, so please check back soon. Our only requirement is that you have an open mind, have a serious interest in paranormal research and have a genuine respect for others. A sense of maturity and responsibility are also important. We love to have fun, but when we're investigating we take it very seriously. Our family is interested in Ghost Hunting, can we join? If you're whole family would like to join, that's okay too, but we prefer that no under the age of 14 go with us out in the field. If you have children who want to join on their own, and are under the age of 18, a parent or legal gaurdian must join EARP as well or accompany them on the field. If I register online at earpzine.com am I now a member of the EARP Team? No, registering on our site, does not qualify you to be a member of our Investigative team. That requires an interview and an explanation of why you feel you'd make a good fit for our team. So how do I become a member of the EARP Team? Simply fill out our online application, with a brief, but detailed exlpanation of why you'd like to join and why you think we'd make a good fit. Also be sure to include your contact information so we can setup an interview. One thing I would like to note, and I bring this up only because we recently received an email asking if we had any hot chicks on the team...what? So things are clear, this is a Paranormal Investigative Team, not a night club. If you are looking for a "hook-up" join a dating site or go to any nightclub around town; we're sure you'll find what you're looking for. If you're only here to try and get a date, we'll politely ask you to leave and revoke your membership. This holds true for the earpzine.com website. There are a number of online dating sites where you can try and find a date. For more information on EARP Team Membership, please register here! How much does it pay? If you are not really dedicated or serious about paranormal investigations and research then this might not be for you. This is strictly on a voluntary basis. We all have regular jobs and family's to attend to, so we do this because it's something we are genuinely interested in and have decided to dedicate some of our free time to researching and investigating. So monetarily no it doesn't pay, but we hope you gain experiences and insight that will last you a life time. Along with spooky stories to tell the kids. I'm really not interested in joining a group, but would like to join in on a hunt, may I ? Short answer yes, but for safety and security reason's we require you to fill out a realease form and provide a valid form of ID. We'd like to know who we're dealing with and that you're of legal age. We also ask that you have a geniune interest in the paranormal, while it can be alot of fun, this isn't a side show. I belong to another group, do you collaborate with other groups? Yes, we feel it benefits all involved to collaborate and share data. There are a couple of rules, we must all agree to work togehter in good faith, be honest and open with one another and absoutely no attempts, at recruiting members from our team, other groups or observers who might come one board, will be tolerated. We are strong believers in good karma. Otherwise we're all good and welcome the chance to work and learn from other groups. I belong to another group, but can I register for earpzine.com? Of course you can, this a communtiy site, owned and operated by the EARP Team. There are some basic rules we'll be posting soon, the number one being don't use the EARP site as a recruitment or marketing platform or to bash and badmouth another group. We'd never disrepect another group in any fashion, much less by going to your site or group function and doing so. Copyright 2008-2010. Allrights Reserved. The El Paso Alternate Reality Project. |
